In addition, various types of memory cards can be inserted: MS, MS Pro, MS Duo, SD, SDHC, MMC and xD, in addition to the micro version, which requires the appropriate adapter. In addition, the flat color scanner can achieve a maximum resolution of 2,400 by 4,800 dpi (dots per inch). The Document Auto Fix function can separate text from images with great precision, then apply area-by-area correction.
As a printer, it uses four-colour inkjet technology with six cartridges from the FINE system, developed by Canon. When using this system with photo paper of the same brand, frameless photos of 10 by 15 centimeters can be printed at a laboratory-specific speed (standard 42 seconds). Of course, you can print on plain paper and labels, up to A4 size. Finally, the Canon Pixma MX420 can work with computers running Windows as an operating system from XP SP2 onwards or with Mac OS X from version 10.4.11.
