- Canon PIXMA MP250 Drivers & User Manual
Canon MP250 Drivers – Technically, these three multifunctional printers are quite similar. They consist of a printing section consisting of a printer that uses a two-color cartridge system with a resolution of 4800×1200 dpi. At this level, only the printing speed distinguishes the three machines: the MP250 delivers a max throughput of 7 ppm in black (4.8 ppm color), while its predecessors MP270 and MP490 display speeds of 8.4 ppm in black and 4.8 ppm in color.

They also incorporate a flatbed color scanner using CIS sensors. Here too, the details distinguish the MP250 from the MP270 and MP490. While the MP250 is satisfied with the definition of 600×1200 dpi, the other two benefit from a better definition (1200×2400 dpi). As well as combining printing and scanning capacity, the three devices have photocopying functions. However, with some restrictions for the MP250 and MP270 that cannot do enlargement or shrinking, only make page size adjustments. In addition, multicopy printing can only be done from 1 to 9 copies. The MP490 allows up to 99 copies, with the reduction/enlargement factor varying from 25 to 400%.
All three have USB 2.0 interfaces to connect to computers and have multi-size sheet suppliers with a capacity of 100 sheets. However, only the MP270 and MP490 have a PictBridge USB port that allows both to print directly from compatible digital cameras. The MP490 model benefits from a flash memory card reader and a small diagonal 4.5 cm LCD screen to simplify the work. Therefore the latter offer the possibility to print contact sheets, print by layout, brighten the face, remove red eyes, etc.
Finally, let’s determine for the attention of photography enthusiasts, that these three Canon Pixma multifunction printers are capable of printing indefinitely on photo paper in formats A4, 20×25, 13×18 and 10×15. As an indication, they require – according to Canon – from 56 seconds (MP250) to 43 seconds (MP490) to print frameless prints 10×15 in standard quality. The use of MFP is simplified with the use of software, such as Canon MP Navigator EX and Canon Easy PhotoPrint EX which enables easy and quick repair of print before printing.
